Description of Activity – Mole Control with traps

·         Slips, trips or falls over molehills, ground irregularity, holes, traps etc

·         Contact with mole probe to underground electricity, gas, or water services

·         Injury from touching traps

·         Disease or infection from touching soil, traps or moles.

·         Injury to people from touching set traps

·         Injury to Stock / Pets From set traps

3.        Current Control Measures

·         Brief land owner re risks to people animals. 

·         Consider marking of traps, covering of trap,

·         Consider removal of molehills,

·         Consider signage, physical exclusion.

·         Establish location of underground service, presence of anything harmful on site (ie chemicals/explosives).

·         Use of PPE (gloves) Health aware / Tetanus inoculation.

·         First aid equipment available.
